Randolph ran into Schaeffer Academy’s zone on Tuesday, and had problems generating offense because of it. But the Rockets regrouped at halftime, and shredded the defense in the second half, beating Schaeffer, 65-29, in the process.

"We struggled against their zone defense in the first half but made a few adjustments at halftime and passed the ball better in the second half,” said Randolph head coach Dennis Trom. “Kori Friedges and Alyssa Whitson did a nice job of attacking the zone and knocking down their shots. Alexa Thesing excelled on the defensive side of the ball leading us in steals with five."

Hannah Neil scored 15 points to lead the Rockets, while Alyssa Whitson (13), Kori Friedges (13) and Wendy Splichal (12) each reached double figures as well.

Neil also had 12 rebounds, and Thesing added four rebounds and two assists to her defensive stats.

Randolph (9-4) will head to Houston on Friday, and then take six days off before hosting Mable-Canton on Jan. 21.
