The Hastings Raiders football team dropped their fourth game in a row on the road to the St. Thomas Academy Cadets 14-7 Friday night, Sept. 29. With the loss, the Raiders are now 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the Suburban Maroon subdistrict.

Hastings fell behind 14-0 in the second quarter as the Cadets scored on three and 33-yard touchdown runs. The Raiders then cut their lead to 14-7 on a two-yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Trey Rogers and extra point by senior kicker Josh Lewanski. Those would be the only scores of the game and Hastings fell 14-7.

The Raiders ran the ball 49 times for 150 yards but were just 4-of-17 passing for 17 yards and an interception. Junior running back Corbin Leflay led Hastings in rushing with 19 carries for 87 yards, senior T.J. Pottinger ran 11 times for 36 yards and Rogers carried 15 times for 22 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore Jackson Kirchoff led Hastings in receiving with two receptions for nine yards. Defensively, senior Jack Caturia had an interception for the Raiders.

Hastings hosts Tartan next Friday, Oct. 6, for homecoming.
