This fall may be the most successful single athletic season experienced in the history of St. Croix Central High School.
And around the state, Central's success this fall ranks among the top overall performances by any high school.
St. Croix Central has seen its football, girls cross country and boys cross country reach the state championships and the volleyball team reach the sectional championship match. There are only three other schools, all in Division 1, that equalled or exceeded that level of success.
In those sports, the top school in the state is Kimberly, which saw both of its cross country teams, its volleyball team and its football team reach the state tournament. Kimberly is the only Wisconsin school to accomplish this feat.
St. Croix Central and Division 1 schools Sun Prairie and Brookfield Central formed the next tier of success among state schools. All three of these schools saw their football teams and both cross country teams reach the state championships, with their volleyball teams being defeated in the sectional championship matches.
