Former Wildcat Annie Frisbie earned All-American honors in her final race with the Iowa State Cyclones at the NCAA Cross Country Championships Saturday, Nov. 17, in Madison.
Frisbie helped the Cyclones post their second consecutive top 20 result by placing 35th overall with a 6,000-meter time of 20 minutes, 31.96 seconds. Iowa State finished 15th in the final team standings. The Cyclones haven't posted back-to-back top-20 performances at the NCAA Championships since the 2013-14 seasons.
Frisbie, a 2014 graduate of River Falls High School, became Iowa State's 35th All-American in school history with her top-40 finish. She also earned 2018 All-Region and All-Big 12 honors.
In the men's race in Madison, Frisbie's former high school classmate, Trent Powell, helped Colorado State University to its second straight ninth-place finish. Powell finished 161st overall with a 7,000-meter time of 31:09.0.
Northern Arizona won its third straight NCAA men's team title while Colorado won the women's team championship.
