The Rosemount Irish girls' gymnastics team ended its regular season at Lakeville North on Tuesday, Feb. 5, where they fell to the Panthers 144.775-138.875. The Irish did not win any of the four events or the all-around but Rosemount head coach Jason Passeri said that Lakeville North is a very good team and if fully healthy could place in the top three at the state tournament.

Senior Arianna Passeri took second on vault with a score of 9.55 while junior Lauren Foyt placed fifth with a 9.2. On bars, Foyt finished fourth with a score of 8.45 and senior Alex Barcus took fifth with a 8.425. For beam sophomore Allison Zeigler took third with a score of 8.9 while Barcus finished fifth with an 8.3 despite having a fall. Finally on floor Passeri was fourth with a 9.55 and fellow senior Lexy Berger took fifth with a score of 9.025.

The Irish will compete in the Section 1AA meet on Friday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. at Farmington High School. Last year Rosemount took second in the meet behind Owatonna, missing out on the state tournament as a team by less than three points with a 146.975. Passeri qualified for her first state meet in 2018 by winning the vault with a score of 9.575. At the state meet, she finished 23rd on vault with a score of 9.4 and at the time she said she wanted to make state in not only vault but also the floor exercise for 2019. She was just one place and 0.25 points away from qualifying last season.
