The Perpetual Motion gymnastics team recently finished a successful regular season and are preparing for their state meet March 22-24 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Below are recent results for some local gymnasts.
The team competed in the Harley Davidson meet in Milwaukee where level-eight gymnast Lara Deshler-a freshman at Hastings High School-placed first in the all-around with a score of 35.725. She also took second on beam and third on floor.
Emma Hagen-a level-nine gymnast and eighth-grader at Hastings Middle School-placed second on vault with a 9.30 at the Elevate the Stage meet in Birmingham, Ala., and at the Twisted Moose meet took fourth on vault and floor.
Hastings sophomore Anna McCabe is a level-10 gymnast. She took second on floor and third on vault with a 9.025 at the Harley Davidson meet, and at the Elevate the Stage meet finished fourth on floor with a 9.050.
Rose Deshler, a senior at HHS, is also a level 10 gymnast. At Elevate the Stage, Rose was sixth on beam while also placing second on bars with a 9.050.
