The Lake City girls' tennis team began its season on Friday with a 7-0 win over New Life Academy. The Tigers followed up with a 4-3 win over Rochester John Marshall on Monday.

On Monday, the Tigers and Rockets split its singles matches. Tiger Renae Harvey defeated Alexis Locati 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in No. 3 singles, and Kaylee Muenzhuber beat Ginny Hull 6-4, 6-0.

The Tigers fell in No. 1 doubles, but Molly Kennedy and Dorothy Holland won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 and Elsie Weinrich and Olivia Morrisey won 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.


The Tigers hosted and swept New Life Academy in the Tigers' season-opener.

Ava Wallerich bested Bryna Eigenfeld 6-4, 6-2. in No. 1 singles. Sarah Ziebarth beat Amanda Oyen 7-6, 6-0 in No. 2 singles. Harvey edged Claire Rachac 6-3, 7-6 (3) in No. 3 singles and Brooke Bee topped Emma Pedro 6-2, 6-1 in No. 4 singles.

Tigers Muenzhuber and Madeline Medvec took down Abrynn and Allie Dennison 6-1, 6-3 in No. 1 doubles. Kennedy and Holland beat Abigail Naslow and Ella Kjelshus 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 doubles. Weinrich and Morrisey beat Ella Kjelshus and Isabella Michele 6-0, 6-1 to round out doubles play.

Lake City played Burnsville 10 a.m. Tuesday at home before traveling to Hastings on Thursday.
