The Lake City volleyball team earned win No. 1 in its season-opener at home on Monday. The Tigers swept Plainview-Elgin-Millville 25-15, 25-20, 25-16.

After winning the first set, the Bulldogs gave the Tigers some trouble in the second set. The two teams exchanged runs of points in a back-and-forth set. The Tigers came out on top and ran away with the third set.

Tigers Elyse Dalager and Hannah Grimm each had a game-high 15 assists. Delany Issendorf led the team with 12 kills, while Olivia Pennington had nine kills. Morgan West added four aces.

Kenyon-Wanamingo swept Caledonia 25-22, 25-12, 25-21 on Saturday..

Ally Peterson led the Knights offense and defense with 17 kills and 18 digs. Julianna Boyum added 12 kills.

Megan Mattson had 13 digs, while Madi Luebke and Kaia Johnson each had 11 digs. Luebke also led the Knights in assists with 23, while Riley Dummer had 16 assists.
