In its meet of the season on Thursday at the St. Olaf High School Showcase, the Red Wing girls' cross-country team came in 14th place while the boys' team finished in 32nd.

Winger Grace Johnson led the way with a sixth place finish. Johnson ran the 5,000-meter race in 19 minutes, 12 seconds. Addie Fjetland came in 60th (21:11.8), Grace Dube came in 70th (21:35.5), Tori Leitner finished 123rd (22:31.6 and Audrey Lahammer took 172nd (23:47.7) to round out the top-5 team finishers.

In the boys' race, Daniel Byers was the Wingers top finisher. Byers came in 88th place with a time of 18:14.1. Dylan Anderson finished in 131st (18:44.7), Cade Wallin came in 184th (19:17.2), Hayden Wyatt finished 199th (19:28.3) and Clayton Bennyhoff took 208th (19:34.3) place and fifth among Winger runners.

Red Wing next travels to Hastings for a meet on Thursday.
