Former Winger and future Mizzou golfer Sophia Yoemans finished in a tie for fifth place at the Minnesota Golf Association Women's Amateur Championship at the Town & Country Club in St. Paul.

Yoemans finished the three-round event with a score of 78-76-78--232, tied with Sierra Bennion and nine shots behind first place. Yoemans birdied the first hole in her first round, but had two bogeys and a double bogey in the front nine. She shot a 39 on the back nine, recording birdies on No. 16 and No. 18.

The second round started off much better as Yoemans birdied No. 3 and No. 9 after a bogey on No. 2. Yoemans had some difficulty on the back nine, but did have two birdies to finish with her best score of the three days.

Yoemans' score of 78 on the third and final round tied for the third best score of the round - seven golfers finished with a 77 or lower.
