RIVER FALLS -- Ellery Ottem set a pair of new school records and Sydney Fleming set one new mark to lead the River Falls girls’ swimming and diving team to a season-opening victory over Tartan Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Ottem’s school records came in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.38 seconds and the 100 free in 53.05 while Fleming swam the 100 backstroke in a school-record time of 1 minute, 2.45 seconds. Fleming also won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.15.

The Wildcats swept all three relays, with Fleming, Samantha Troyer, Jane Briese and Isabelle Greenwood combining for a time of 2:04.29 in the 200 medley relay, Briese, Sam Burke, Greenwood and Ottem winning the 200 freestyle relay in 1:49.58, and Fleming, Sadie Ottem, Troyer and Ellery Ottem winning the 400 free relay in 4:00.52.

Troyer added two first-place individual finishes -- in the 200 freestyle in 2:09.44 and the 500 free in 5:47.88. Briese took first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:28.61 and Katelynn Farmer won the 100 breaststroke in 1:30.67.

The Cats also swept the top three spots in diving, with Isabelle Seyffer winning with a score of 218.75, Eva Mikla placing second with 210.9 and Madison Berg placing third with 201.1.

The Wildcats will host Eau Claire North Thursday, Sept. 12, before competing in the Ashwaubenon Invitational Saturday, Sept. 14.
