Taking third place as a team, Red Wing set two new pool records at the Tartan Invite on Saturday.

Cecelia De Jong set a pool record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.07 seconds. De Jong edged Hudson's Evie Wood by .03 to win the race.

Grace O'Brien, Sammy Kriese, Teegan Beyers and De Jong won the 200 medley relay and set a pool record with a time of 1:52.60. Again, Hudson was a close second, finishing .28 seconds behind the Wingers.

"We had a lot of athletes step up this weekend and produce tremendous results for the team," Red Wing head coach Mikayla Beuch said. "We knew it was going to take everyone to score high at this meet, with as many teams as there was. I was excited to see a team like Hudson there, as they have some fast athletes that I knew would challenge some of our older girls."

The group of O'Brien, Kriese, Beyers and De Jong took second in the 200 freestyle relay, finishing the race in 1:44.26.

De Jong took second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:20.55. Beyers placed second in the 100 freestyle (55.33) and the 500 freestyle (5:40.52). O'Brien finished in fourth place in the 100 backstroke (1:08.45) and Kriese came in fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.48).

Only Woddbury (489 points) and Hudson (414) finished ahead of the Wingers (306) in the team standings.

Red Wing next competes against Winona at home on Thursday.
