The Zumbrota-Mazeppa volleyball team swept Cannon Falls 25-17, 25-19, 25-23 Thursday night.

Cougar Rylee Nelson had a game-high 30 assists and tallied 11 digs. Nelson and Jakalyn Arendt each had four blocks, while Arendt led the Cougars with 15 kills. Sarah Mensink led the team with 16 digs. Natalie Dykes added seven kills.

Jaci Winchell led the Bomber offense with 21 assists. Shayla Hustad had six kills and five aces. Lauren Johnson had a team-high nine digs and Kyra Schoenfelder added eight digs.

Z-M improved to 8-10 overall and 3-4 in the Hiawatha Valley League. Cannon Falls fell to 10-10 overall and 5-3 in the HVL.

Tuesday

The Lake City volleyball earned a sweep of Cannon Falls on Tuesday.

The Tigers took the first set 25-20, then the second set 25-18 and finished off the match with a 25-20 win in the third set.

Delaney Issendorf had a game-high 13 kills for the Tigers. Hannah Labonte also had 13 kills and added three blocks. Elyse Dalager tallied 18 assists, while Hannah Grimm had 17 assists.. Morgan West recorded 15 digs.

Makayla Bowen led the Bombers with six kills and 12 digs. Shayla Hustad had a team-high eight kills and Jaci Winchell contributed 24 assists.

Z-M 3, Goodhue 1

Zumbrota-Mazeppa won the first set 25-20, but Goodhue came back to win the second set 25-9. The Cougars then won the next two sets 25-19, 25-14 respectively.

Rylee Nelson paced the Cougars with 35 assists and 20 digs. Sarah Mensink had a team-high 24 digs. Natalie Dykes had 17 kills, while Jakalyn Arendt added 12 kills.

Schaeffer Academy took down Randolph in four sets. The Lions took the first set 25-14. The Rockets responded with a 25-18 win in the second set, but the Lions won the next two sets 25-21, 25-19 and the match.

Kenyon-Wanamingo had little issues in a sweep of Rochester Lourdes.

The Knights won the first two sets 25-15, then finished off the match with a 25-9 win in the third set.

Julianna Boyum led the Knights with nine kills and five blocks. Ally Peterson added six kills and had five aces. Madi Luebke had a team-high 17 assists and Kaia Johnson had seven digs.
