Red Wing fell in three sets to Rochester Century Thursday night.
The Panthers won the first set 25-15 and carried that momentum through to the final point, winning the next two sets 25-16, 25-18.
The Wingers gave away points early on the first and second set with hits that went out of bounds and serves a couple inches too low.
"Against Century, we mixed the rotation up trying to get some new combinations, but were unable to gain momentum throughout the match," said Red Wing head coach Lindsay Woychek.
The Wingers front row defenders, which included Elle Thorson and Maddie Castner, came up with a few blocks, but the team couldn't erase any of the deficits they faced.
In the two games this week combined, Thorson and Castner had four and three blocks respectively. Thorson also had four aces.
Abi Deming had 16 kills and 13 digs, while Meg Grove had 11 kills and five digs in the two games. Hallie Roschen totaled 36 assists for the Wingers and Emily Burow added nine digs.
Rochester John Marshall swept Red Wing 25-15, 25-17, 25-11 on Tuesday.
"John Marshall had an outside hitter with a heavy arm that we had trouble stopping and we had trouble putting the ball down," Woychek said.
