The East Ridge boys' hockey team wanted to come back from a hard loss on Thursday night as the Raptors traveled to Mounds View on Saturday night.
East Ridge fought for all three periods, but the Mustangs came out with the 3-2 victory.
Mounds View took an early 1-0 lead in the first period, but Marco Troje scored for the Raptors to tie the game up at the end of the first period. The Mustangs reclaimed the lead in the second period with another goal and extended that lead early in the third period.
Troje scored his second goal of the game to make it a 3-2 game, but it wasn't enough to earn the win for East Ridge.
The Raptors will return home on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 7:30 p.m. as they play Stillwater in a key conference game this upcoming week.
After a strong scoring night by the East Ridge boys' hockey team, the Raptors wanted to continue that momentum into Thursday's road game against Roseville.
Roseville had the last laugh as it scored three goals in the last period to win 4-2 over East Ridge in the conference game.
Roseville scored the first goal of the game, but the Raptors came back in the second period to take a 2-1 lead. The goals came from Evan Ceglar and Marco Troje, while the assists were awarded to Camden Newman, John Kremer, Jack Brown and Nick Landin.
In the second half of the third period, Roseville scored three quick goals and claimed the victory on Thursday night.
East Ridge has one more game this week as the Raptors prepare for another road game at Mounds View on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 7:30 p.m.
The East Ridge boys' hockey team brought the confidence and momentum from Saturday's win against Woodbury into Tuesday's game against Bloomington Jefferson. It was a low-scoring game until the third period when the Raptors scored five goals to win 7-4 in the non-conference game.
The Raptors started the game with a 1-0 lead after a goal from Quinn Carter. Bloomington Jefferson came back in the first period to take a 2-1 lead and it extended to 3-1 early in the second period.
Tyler Wenshau brought the Raptors closer with a goal in the second period to make it a 3-2 game. Evan Ceglar and Nate Somers helped with the assist on the goal.
Then, the momentum changed as East Ridge took full control of the game. Nick Landin and Jack Brown each scored two goals in the third period, while Marco Troje scored his own goal to make it a 7-4 final on Tuesday night.
Brown recorded two assists, while Troje, Ceglar, Somers, Landin and Carter each earned one assist in the third period.
It was a big scoring night for the Raptors and they hope that continues as they continue their road trip on Thursday, Jan. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Roseville.
