East Ridge wrestler MJ Okada has been climbing up the state rankings. Last week he showed why.

Okada, a freshman, went 4-0 at the Minnehaha Invitational to take first place at the tournament, helping the Raptors finish third as a team. At the Minnehaha invite, Okada reached the finals with three pins before defeating Josh Tarum, currently ranked eighth in class AA, by an 8-3 score in the championship match. Okada, who is ranked ninth at 106 pounds in Class AAA, has now won five of the six individual tournaments East Ridge has competed in this season and currently holds a 23-2 overall record on the year.
