The girls' golf team finished their regular season with a match against Mahtomedi and their Metro East Conference championships. The Raiders fell to Mahtomedi and then finished fourth in conference, with several girls bring home all-conference honors.
The match against Mahtomedi was only their second dual loss of the season. Hastings shot a 200 and were led by Megan Brown and Hannah Hubbart, both of whom shot 48's. Sam Benson and Lauren Skov added 52's.
Hastings ended the regular season with the conference championships held at Highland National Golf Course in St. Paul.
"Megan Brown played really well, she hit 14 out of 18 fairways and was putting great," head coach Becky Hartung said. "She had her best round ever shooting an 85 and took fifth in the conference championship and earned all-conference honors."
Hannah Hubbart shot an 89 and finished fourth in the conference for the season, also earning all-conference honors. Sam Benson shot a 100 and was named all-conference honorable mention, while Shannon O'Connor came in with a 101 and was also named honorable mention. Overall, the team finished fourth in the conference.
"The mid-conference and conference championship (meets) are where we needed to do well to finish better, that's when team and individuals can earn the most points, and we came up a little short," Hartung said.
The team now moves on to section play, which is Thursday, May 31, and Monday, June 4, at Cannon Golf Club in Cannon Falls. The state tournament is June 12-13 at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids.
