The Red Wing girls' golf team got its season off to a good start with a 315-364 win over Rochester John Marshall on Tuesday.

With the recent snow, the grounds, especially the putting greens, were a bit rough. Nevertheless, the Wingers enjoyed some early success.

"Putting was kind of an issue for us today, but we overall a good first match," said Red Wing head coach Mark Herzog.

Leah Herzog led the Wingers with a 68. Her round included an eagle on the 10th hole. Sophia Yoemans was not far behind Herzog with a 73. Sydney Flack scored an 86. Ava Bremseth scored a personal-best of 88. Bailey Rocshen had a 97 and Grace Dube had a 98.
