It was the final golf match for the conference as the teams traveled to the University of Minnesota to play at the Les Bolstad Golf Course on Tuesday.
East Ridge and Woodbury had strong days to create some momentum heading into the section match next week.
The Raptors finished the day at second place with a team score of 317, while the Royals finished in fourth place with a team score of 329.
Those team scores helped finalize the conference standings and East Ridge took second for the season with 49 points. The Raptors were five points behind Stillwater which earned the conference championship. Woodbury ended the season in third place with 38 points.
On Tuesday's match, Gus Briguet led the Raptors with a 78 and Caden Pratt came right behind him with a score of 79. Aaron Beissler and Reece Hoyme each earned an 80 to round out the top four scores.
Justin Luan finished the day with an 82, while Tyler Wenshau rounded out the team with a score of 88.
It took a team effort all season long to reach that second-place finish as each match had different golfers in the top four for the Raptors. It was a big accomplishment for East Ridge, but the team is now focused on making it to day two of the section tournament and working hard to reach the state tournament.
Woodbury will also be looking to reach day two and fight for a top spot in the section tournament as its top four conference spot will give the team some momentum.
Parker Sands was the top finisher for the Royals on Tuesday with a score of 77. Carter Spalding was right behind him with a score of 82. Christopher Mahady and Ethan Kress each finished the day with a score of 85.
Willie Price ended Monday with a score of 86, while Kolton Gribble rounded out with a score of 87.
The two teams will prepare for the Section 3AAA section tournament on Friday, May 31 at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids. The first day will take place Friday, while the second day will be on Monday, June 3.
The East Ridge and Woodbury boys golf teams started off the week at the Stillwater Country Club for a conference match on Monday.
It was a tight finish for the top four spots, but Woodbury finished in second with a team score of 310 and East Ridge ended in third with a team score of 312.
Woodbury had five of its six golfers reach scores of 70's including Ryan Muzzy and Christopher Mahady who led the Royals with a score of 77 each. Willie Price and Parker Sands finished right behind them with scores of 78.
Carter Spalding also finished strong with a score of 79, while Luke Danielson rounded out the team with an 88.
Justin Luan led the Raptors with a score of 73, while Aaron Beissler finished with a score of 79. Reece Hoyme and Tyler Wenshau each ended the day with an 80.
Caden Pratt was right behind them with a score of 81, while Alex Venne rounded out the team with an 83. All the six scores were 10 strokes apart, which is always a strong aspect heading into the final conference tournament on Tuesday.
The two teams will return to the golf course on Tuesday, May 21 as the teams conclude the conference season at Les Bolstad Golf Course on the University of Minnesota campus.
