The Raider gymnastics team made its final home dual meet of the season a successful one by defeating Rice Lake, 131.5 to 129.175 on Senior Night Thursday, Jan. 18, at Willow River Elementary School.

Freshman Caroline Erickson led the squad with a season-high score of 9.15 in the floor exercise and added a second place score of 8.65 on the vault and third place scores of 8.3 on the balance beam and 7.75 on the uneven parallel bars to win the all-around competition with a total of 33.85.

Freshman Amber Robey took first on the uneven bars with a score of 9.05 while senior Taylor Owens turned in a second place score of 8.8 in the floor exercise and finished fourth in the all-around in her final home meet. Freshman Emma O'Neill contributed a second place score of 8.0 on bars.

The Raiders continued competition on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Henry-Sibley Invitational where they placed second out of seven teams. Hudson claimed their runner-up finish with a season-high score of 133.45.

Owens took second place on floor with a score of 9.0 while Erickson took third with an 8.9 and Maia Malchow placed fourth with an 8.85.

Robey recorded a third-place finish on beam with a 9.0.

The Raider gymnasts will head to Eau Claire Memorial High School on Thursday, Feb. 1 for their last conference meet before the Big Rivers Conference tournament held at River Falls High School on Friday, Feb. 16.
