The Perpetual Motion gymnastics team recently concluded their season at state and regional championship competitions. The Region 4 Championship was held in Bettendorf, Iowa, comprised of athletes from the seven-state region.

At the Minnesota state meet, Hastings High School freshman Lara Deshler placed third on vault, fifth on bars and fourth in the all-around. She concluded her level eight season at regionals by placing third on floor with a score of 9.325.

Emma Hagen, an eighth grader at Hastings Middle School, is a level nine gymnast. At the state meet, Hagen took second on vault with a 9.4. At regionals, she finished fourth on vault, sixth on bars and scored a season-best 35.375 all-around score for eighth place.

Sophomore Anna McCabe is a level 10 gymnast and at the state meet, McCabe placed fifth on vault with a 9.15 and scored a season-best all-around of 35.075. She placed sixth on vault at regionals.

Rose Deshler is a level 10 gymnast. Although an ankle injury prevented her from finishing the championship season, Deshler will be continuing her gymnastics career in college. She will compete for Centenary College in Shreveport, La, and study Spanish and biology.
