Five Fusion honored by BRC

Senior forward Kamryn Jacobs headlines a list of five St. Croix Valley Fusion players who have been named to 2017-18 All-Big Rivers Conference Girls Hockey teams by the conference coaches.

Jacobs was named to the All-BRC First Team for the third straight season while junior forward Anna Albrightson earned honorable mention for the third time and sophomore forward Taylar Meier received honorable mention for the second straight year. Senior forward Maddie Schultz and sophomore goalie Sydney Seeley both received honorable mention for the first time.

In addition, Jacobs earned a spot on the Wisconsin Girls Hockey Association All-State Second Team while Albrightson and senior defenseman Katy Anderson earned honorable mention.

Jacobs led the Fusion in scoring this season with 41 points (24 goals, 17 assists), in 24 games. fifth most in the conference. She scored a team-high six power play goals and three shorthanded goals while registering two game winners.

Albrightson was second on the team with 32 points (16 goals, 16 assists) while Meier was third with 31 (16 goals, 15 assists). Schultz's 23 goals were second most on the team and included a team-high six game-winners.

Seeley posted a record of 8-3-0 with four shutouts in her first varsity season with a goals against average of 2.27 and a .913 saves percentage while Anderson scored two goals from her blue line position, both on power plays, while dishing out eight assists.

The Fusion finished the 2017-18 season with a record of 17-7-0 and ranked third in the state in the final Wisconsin Prep Hockey poll. They lost to eventual state champion and BRC rival Eau Claire Area, 4-3, in the sectional semifinal round of the playoffs.
