Hastings native and Cretin-Derham Hall senior Paige Peltier continued to rack up accolades this summer as she heads into her final season of prep soccer. Peltier, who we profiled this past winter, was recently named to the USA Today’s 2019 All-USA Preseason Girls’ Soccer Team as picked by Sheldon Shear of TopDrawerSoccer.com. She is also considered one of the favorites to win the Class AA Ms. Soccer Award from the Minnesota High School Soccer Coaches’ Association.
Peltier helped lead Cretin-Derham Hall to a 12-4 regular season record last fall where they lost to Wayzata in the section championship game. She scored 24 goals to lead Class AA and added 14 assists.
Last December, Peltier found out that she was named an Allstate All-American, just one of 150 players from across the country. On July 31, she played in the Top-40 Allstate All-American game in Orlando, Fla., which was televised on ESPNU but was called after just 30 minutes due to weather and broadcasting time restraints.
Peltier committed to playing soccer for the University of Notre Dame in October of her freshman year after previously attending camp there as an eighth grader and as a freshman. She said that Notre Dame was always at the top of her list of schools because her parents -- Dan and Amy Peltier -- went there.
Cretin-Derham Hall starts the season at home versus Robbinsdale Armstrong on Thursday, Aug. 22.
