The Randolph softball team had no shortage of offense in a 20-0 win against Nicolet on Thursday.

The Rockets scored in every inning with eight runs in the first, two in the second and five in the third and fourth.

Morgyn Otte had a game-high four hits for the Rockets. Kenna Foss and Kenna Otte each had three hits. Morgyn and Foss each drove in four runs, while Megan Erickson had three RBI.

Randolph improved to 7-0 overall.

The Cannon Falls softball team took down Stewartville 8-2 on Tuesday.

The Tigers scored first, but the Bombers answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Leading 3-1 after one inning, the Tigers made it a one-run game in the third. Again, the Bombers answered with three runs in the bottom half to take a 6-2 lead. The Bombers added two insurance runs in the fifth.

Abby Breuer went 4-for-4 while scoring two runs for the Bombers. Rachel Huseth had two hits and two RBI, while Anja Black went 3-for-4, scoring two runs and driving one in.


Randolph 5, Visitation 3

Locked in a 0-0 tie, Randolph broke through in the top of the sixth inning. The Rockets scored five runs, but Visitation came back with two runs in the bottom half of the sixth. The Rockets held Visitation to just a run in the seventh to secure the win.

Andrea Splichal and Kenna Otte each drove in two runs. Morgyn Otte struck out 11 batters in a complete-game victory on the mound.


Lake City 3, Pine Island 1

Lake City broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fifth inning, taking a 2-0 lead. The Tigers added an insurance run in the sixth and held off a potential seventh-inning rally by Pine Island.

Deonna Jostock struck out six batters and allowed three hits while walking two in the complete-game win. Jostock also was the one to give the Tigers the lead with a two-run triple.

Noelle Douglas went 1-for-3 and scored the Panther's lone run. Abby Bauman and Bella Mehrkens each collected a hit for the Panthers.
