The Rosemount boys' tennis team saw mixed results as the competed in the individual portion of the section 3AA playoffs held at the Life Time Fitness in Lakeville. The highlight for the Irish was sophomore Aashish Bharath and seventh-grader Tygen Goldammer advancing to the final four of the doubles tournament after receiving a bye in the first round and winning two more. In singles, freshman Austin Johnson won his first singles match before being eliminated.

Senior Eric Otness and Johnson were Rosemount's two singles entries. Otness fell in his opening match against Addison Scufsa of Simley 6-0, 6-3. Johnson won his first match in a hard-fought battle 5-7, 6-3, 6-0 over Nico Peredes-Sepulveda of Cretin Derham Hall. He then fell to Brandon Kurilla of Hastings 6-3, 6-3.

The other doubles team besides Bharath and Goldammer was senior Jake Green and junior Unnath Salagram. They lost in the first round to Subbarao Garlapati and Eli Vandersman of East Ridge 6-1, 6-2. As for Bharath/Goldammer, after they received a bye in the first round they beat Quinn Doland and Andrew Johnson of St. Thomas Academy 6-2, 6-4 and the next round they defeated Allen Gong and Ben Schriner of Eagan 6-2, 6-3. They play their final matches on Tuesday, May 29.
