Closed cases Michael A. Cooper, 38, Ellsworth, was convicted of disorderly conduct and fined $443 March 25. A criminal damage to property was read in but dismissed. The charges resulted from a May 3 incident in Ellsworth. A felony possession of methamphetamine charge against Charles O. Kester, 50, Prescott, was dismissed March 29 upon completion of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. The charge stemmed from an Oct. 24, 2017 incident in Prescott.
Citations • Carl M. Balloy, 22, Ellsworth, was for operating ATV without valid registration after allegedly operating an unregistered all-terrain vehicle on a roadway and private parking lot at 12:53 p.m. April 8 at 137 E. Main St., Ellsworth. The report listed no ATV safety, no brake light on the vehicle or rear brakes and illegal exhaust. • Shawn P. Vinje, 21, Lakeville, was cited for speeding after a traffic stop at 12:03 a.m. April 10 at 1170th Street and Highway 29 in Prescott. Vinje said he needed to go that fast to pass a car.
Closed cases Jackson L. Hundt, 17, Prescott, was convicted of disorderly conduct, sentenced to one year of probation and fined $443 March 13. A criminal damage to property (as party to a crime) charge was dismissed. The charges resulted from incidents April 22 and between Aug. 24-26 in Prescott.
Arrests • Valerie R. DeVine, 49, Ellsworth, was arrested at 3:39 p.m. April 1 at 414 Main Street in Ellsworth for a probation hold after showing up for a court hearing allegedly smelling of intoxicants. • Reggie D. Gilbertson, 43, Hudson, was arrested at 6:09 p.m. April 1 at 330th Avenue and 490th Street in Ellsworth after being found slumped over the steering wheel in his vehicle that was in the ditch. No injuries were reported and he was arrested on suspicion of OWI-sixth and probation violation.
DIAMOND BLUFF -- A Pepin man died as a result of a single-vehicle crash Wednesday near Diamond Bluff. According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at 11:57 p.m. April 10 on HIghway 35, two-tenths of a mile north of 375th Avenue in the town of Diamond Bluff.
Citations • Taryn Skye-Ann Collins, 20, Ettrick, was cited for speeding in area not posted - 55 miles per hour zone at 12:13 a.m March 25 on County Road E and Highway 35 near Prescott. • Samantha L. Forberg, 20, Ellsworth, was cited for operating without a valid license after a traffic stop at 11:38 p.m. March 25 at Chestnut and Main streets in Ellsworth. • Seth W. Harrison, 19, River Falls, was cited for operating without a valid license and no insurance after a traffic stop at 10:55 a.m. March 26 at 850th Street and Highway 29 near River Falls.
Initial appearances Nathan L. Andorff, 38, Roberts, posted a $2,500 signature bond on a felony forgery-uttering charge March 11. The charge stemmed from a Jan. 3 incident at Ptacek's IGA in Prescott. Kayla C. Burgraff, 24, Lake City, Minn., pleaded innocent and posted a $2,500 signature bond on misdemeanor bail jumping and operating after revocation charges March 11. The charges resulted from a March 10 incident in the town of Trenton.
TOWN OF GILMAN -- Seven people were injured in a town of Gilman crash late Saturday afternoon. According to a Wisconsin State Patrol news release, they responded to the two-vehicle crash at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, March 30 on State Highway 29 at County Road BB near Spring Valley.
More details have been released following a March 25 Ellsworth Community School District bus crash. According to a news release from the Ellsworth Police Department, two adults and seven Ellsworth School District students were transported to the hospital after sustaining minor injuries from a bus crash. An initial automated announcement from the district said they were sent to Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing.
Arrests • A vehicle was stopped at 8:57 p.m. March 11 at 920th Street and Highway 65 in River Falls for registered owner showing wanted status and suspended driver's license and expired plates. The registered owner was arrested on an outstanding warrant. • Responders were sent to N1555 770th St. in Hager City at 4:52 p.m. March 15 for attempted fraud. The suspects were not successful in the fraud and meth and drug paraphernalia were located in their possession. A female was arrested and transported to the jail.
