Initial appearances Michael D. Condon Sr., 56, River Falls, was ordered to pay $10,000 cash bail on a first degree sexual assault of child - sexual contact with person under 13 (lifetime supervision of serious offender) charge March 8. The charge stemmed from an incident on or between March 4-5 in River Falls. Daniel M. Danielson, 27, River Falls, pleaded innocent and posted a $1,000 signature bond on a disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) charge March 5. The charge resulted from a March 3 incident in River Falls.
Arrests • Jeremy M. Dowdell, 21, Fall River, was cited for speeding after a traffic stop at 4:46 p.m. Feb. 15 at 1005th Street and Highway 35 in Hager City. The officer checked the vehicle after smelling marijuana. Dowdell was arrested on suspicion of possession of THC and numerous paraphernalia items. • Robert J. Vodnik, 62, River Falls, was cited and arrested at 1:46 a.m. Feb. 16 at 862nd Street and Highway 29 in River Falls for operating while intoxicated (OWI) after being stopped for operating left of center, failure to dim high beam lights and speeding.

Extensive search conducted after suspicious activity report A suspicious person was reported at 2:35 a.m. Feb. 3 at a home on 150th Avenue in Hager City. The caller said the person was asking for a ride to a disabled vehicle. Deputies conducted an extensive check and found neither the suspect nor a disabled vehicle. TOWN OF SALEM -- A 16-year-old male from Plum City died in a vehicle crash Saturday afternoon, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol. At 1:01 p.m. Feb. 2, 2019, the state patrol responded to the crash at 290th Street and 190th Avenue in Pierce County. Upon arrival, troopers found the lone 16-year-old occupant of a 1989 Ford F250 dead at the scene.

Caller cries fowl in Bay City A caller reported a large number of swans Jan. 9 at the park on Lake Pepin in Bay City. The caller feared the birds may be frozen on the ice. A deputy checked the area and found swans and Canada geese gathered in the water, where they were sunning, preening themselves and sleeping. There were no signs of distress. Traffic troubles • Deputies assisted a driver whose alternator had gone out at 4:32 p.m. Dec. 21 at highways 35 and 63 in Hager City. • Police responded to a hit and run at 12:10 a.m. Den. 1 at W6390 Highway 35 in Bay City, in a parking lot. The suspect vehicle had fled the area and was not located. • Police responded to a car vs. pedestrian accident at 7:27 p.m. Jan. 3 on 975th Street near River Falls. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital.
