The Red Wing gymnastics team bested Faribault in Big Nine conference action on Friday.

Wingers gymnast Breck Bergin was pulled from two events due to an ankle injury. Red Wing head coach Lisa Hanson said she was proud of the varsity performers and the few who were pressed into action because of Bergin's injury.

"We had two gymnasts who had to step in at the last minute and compete varsity without their normal 3 minute warm-up and they did well," Hanson said. "This is a great example of the depth we have on our team and great practice for the post season competition. We will have five gymnasts registered for each event and three alternates."

Chole Fox finished third in vault with a score of 8.55. Chloe McGrath came in third place on the beam with an 8.325. Carolyn Hanson finished first on bars (8.15), first on floor (8.825) and came in second all-around (32.9). Angel Griggs finished in first place in vault (8.625) and Ally Urban finished fourth all-around (32.05).

The Wingers next compete in the Big Nine Conference Meet on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Winona High School.
